Carnage Tippmann Tournament!
Carnage Paintball has announced their three-man Spring Challenge. Nothing necessarily out of the ordinary about a great paintball field hosting an event, but this three-man tournament is a little different. The Carnage Three-Man Spring Challenge will be a Tippmann-only event. That's right, the teams competing for a massive prize package will all be using makers manufactured by Tippmann! SSC Paintball Cup - Kuching...
 Sentosa Sports Centre hosted the SSC Paintball Cup, Kuching Open 2010, a local Divison 3 tournament held last weekend. 13 teams participated in the M5 format 'under cover'/indoor event with DYE boss and tournament sponsor Dave Youngblood turning up with sepcial guests, current Ironmen player Mikko Huttunen and ex-Ironmen player Zyzek Barro. Final results at the end of the weekend were as follows: 1st - SSC Killers 2nd - Last Limbo Man 3rd - SSC Shooter 4th - Tribal Waxer

It's Official: SPPL Under New...
The SPPL is under new ownership as of March 7th, 2010. Billy Smith of Low Country Paintball has acquired the league from founder Jayson Nielson. Regarding the acquisition, Jayson Neilson said, ?The SPPL is the premier Woodsball League in the world. There are many imitators but they will never be able to match the sportsmanship, fair play, and overall fun and simplicity of our 3 flag format. With events in five different countries and fields all across the US requesting local SPPL affiliates it is critical that my replacement not only be qualified to continue on with my vision but to grow that vision and take the SPPL to new heights.?

2010 Australian State of...
 The new format for the Australian State of Origin Championship has been announced and yes, it's a 10 Man format! Mike Whybrew announced recently at Australian Paintball.com a few details on the event which is scheduled to played November 12th 2010.
NEW FORMAT!! The first ever M14 event....
- 10 players on the field - 14 on a roster plus a coach
- 16 minute match
- Race to 5
Killer Paintballs will be donating the first 14 boxes of paint to each team FOR FREE. Action Paintball will supplying Free entry for each State team. Paintball Pete and his merry band of Refs Inc will be supplying the Refs. To save any misunderstanding and to keep this event at the top level it must be there is a minumum criteria for each team. Each team must have a minimum of 5 0% Super 7s Pro ranked players on their roster. This event is not meant to be a "anyone can turn up and play" event. "This is to represent the best players in the country from each state....and by this be able to show who is the Champion Paintball State in Australia." In what has to be a first for paintball, players for each Australian state will be chosen by 'State Selectors' (details will be provided later this week). It will be up to them to select their respective state sides and to ensure that these teams are made up of the required number of Super 7s Pro ranked players. It's great to see the Aussies being inventive with tournaments - the State of Origin gives Aussie paintballers another goal to strive for and sparks up more interest in the paintball scene downunder.

Pattaya Tournament Update
 The chief marshall of the Pattaya International Paintball Championship Mr Junaidi Khalil, hosted the draw for Division 2 teams today ahead of the tournament starting this Friday 12 March in Pattaya, Thailand. The 15 Division 1 teams from Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Iran and Australia were split into 3 groups to play first round games. In order to have a fair international mix of teams between all 3 groups, teams were drawn by country to be placed in Groups A, B or C. The resulting draw is as follows: Group ARaskal - Malaysia

Argueably one of the stongest line-ups of teams since WCA, hot favourites based on previous form would have to be Nemisis Legion (MAL) who won the first leg of MY-NPL 2010, Australian team STK who placed 4th at 2009 World Cup Asia and Demonz Red who recently managed a 3rd at MPOC and followed that up with a 2nd at MY-NPL. Hytorious and Mission to Mars are stepping up to D1 after placing 1st and 3rd at WCA 2009 in D2. Also expect strong challenges coming from Datis, Persion Legend, Xtioneer and Delta Rovers.

Big News From SoCal
 From the LA Hitmen: There?s big news for pump paintball in Northern California today. When you think of the northern California paintball scene the LA Hitmen don?t really come to mind. The LA Hitmen have been the top pump team to beat for years now, winning multiple pump and non-pump events since 2005. For many pumpers getting a chance to play against the team is a dream come true. For those who push themselves hard, getting a chance to play for the team is even a larger goal. We recently announced that we would be expanding our program to include pump players who demonstrate the will to become a part of the Hitmen family, even if they can?t practice with us in So Cal. Some boys in Nor Cal had the dream of becoming Hitmen. Their lives are about to change.

Vanguard Sponsors Identity!
 The manufacturers of the Creed tournament marker announced today that they have reached an agreement to sponsor the quickly-growing Identity paintball team organization out of the Northeast. While terms of the deal were not disclosed, it was stated that the team would use the Creed marker in national and regional competition throughout the 2010 season and beyond. Pattaya International...
The 1st Leg of the PALS 2010 season launches this month on 12-14 March hosted in Pattaya, Thailand. Division 1 will be an M7 Race to 3 format with Divisions 2 & 3 being a standard M5 format. PALS has been dormant since 2008 but has made a successful comback in 2010 with teams from Iran, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Taiwan, India, the Philippines and host nation Thailand competing.

CPCL
The first leg of the Cyberjaya Paintball League is being held this weekend. (Cyberjaya is a bout 50km out of KL close to Sepang) - What makes this tournament interesting is that it has unique tournament playing rules. There are 2 divisions, the lower novice division teams will all use house eMarkers and play a 3.2 format (3 players start the game and 2 players join after 30 seconds of play) and the Open division will be a 5.2 format (with 5 men staring and 2 players joining after 30 seconds)
So far about 26 teams have registered. The Open division will be a tough fight with D3 teams going up against D1 & D2 teams. For more information visit the Werdna Hol Sportz forums. 1st League - March 6th & 7th 2010 - Cyberjaya Sports Arena
